Here are some words for animals (dýr) in Icelandic. Some of these may be reviews.

asni (m.) - donkey
fiskur (m.) - fish
fugl (m.) - bird
hestur (m.), hross (n.) - horse
hundur (m.) - dog
hvalur (m.) - whale
hvolpur (m.) - puppy
kanína (f.) - rabbit
kettlingur (m.) - kitten
kind (f.) - sheep
kjúklingur (m.) - chicken
kýr (f.) - cow
köttur (m.) - cat
lamb (n.) - lamb
mús (f.) - mouse
rotta (f.) - rat
skordýr (n.) - insect
svín (n.) - pig
tófa (f.) - fox
önd (f.) - duck

Kýr (cow) is an irregular feminine noun; here is its declension:

     Sg.     Pl.
nom. kýr     kýr
acc. kú      kýr
dat. kú      kúm
gen. kýr     kúa

Köttur also has a vowel shift: köttur, kött, ketti, kattar.
